Why use a ceiling AP instead of a regular router? β
A ceiling-mounted AP broadcasts downward in a 360Β° pattern providing much more even coverage across the entire floor. For offices, shops, and restaurants, ceiling APs eliminate dead zones far more effectively than desk routers.
What PoE switch do I need to power the i24? β
The i24 requires IEEE 802.3af PoE β provided by the Tenda TEF1106P (4 ports), TEF1110P (8 ports), or TEF1118P (16 ports). One Cat5e/Cat6 cable from the switch powers and connects the AP.
How many i24 units do I need for my office or shop? β
One i24 covers ~100β150 sq metres in open-plan environments. For larger spaces, add one unit per additional 100β150 sq metres. In heavily partitioned offices, err toward one unit per 80 sq metres.
Can multiple i24 units provide seamless roaming? β
Yes. Configure all i24 units with the same SSID and password on the same network switch β phones and laptops roam between them automatically as users move through the space.
What is the difference between the i24 and the i27? β
The i24 is AC1200 for standard commercial deployments up to 64 clients. The i27 is AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 with 128 client capacity β better for high-density environments. For under 30 users per AP, the i24 is excellent value.
