Does the DL05 require a separate Wi-Fi gateway to connect to the app? β
No. Unlike some smart locks that require a separate hub or gateway, the EZVIZ DL05 has built-in 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and connects directly to your home router. Just download the EZVIZ app, connect the lock to your Wi-Fi during setup, and you're ready to control it remotely.
What happens if the battery dies β will I be locked out? β
No. The DL05 sends low battery alerts to your phone well in advance. In an emergency, there is an external USB-C emergency power port on the lock body β you can hold a power bank against it to temporarily power the lock and gain entry. The mechanical key backup also ensures you're never permanently locked out.
Can I give temporary access to guests or domestic staff? β
Yes. Through the EZVIZ app you can create temporary PIN codes or share app access with specific time restrictions β for example, allowing a guest to enter only between certain hours on certain days. Access can be revoked instantly from your phone at any time.
Is the DL05 compatible with all door types in Pakistan? β
The DL05 is designed to replace standard mortise locks commonly found in Pakistani homes and apartments. It fits doors with a standard backset and thickness between 38β100mm. If you have an unusual door setup, it is recommended to measure your existing lock dimensions before purchasing or contact our WhatsApp support for advice.
Does the lock keep a record of who entered and when? β
Yes. The EZVIZ app maintains a full access log showing every unlock event β including which method was used (fingerprint, PIN, app, key) and the exact time. This is useful for monitoring domestic staff entry times or keeping track of when family members arrive home.
