Choose an outdoor mounting spot with access to an electrical outlet or weatherproof extension cable.
Mount at a height of 2.5–3 meters to cover the widest possible area while staying out of easy reach.
Use the included waterproof kit at the cable joint to prevent water ingress.
Fix the camera to a wall or eave using the drill template and included screws.
Connect power and confirm the camera boots up. Optionally run an Ethernet cable for a wired connection.
Add to the EZVIZ app via QR code and connect to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.
Test signal strength at the exact mounting spot; outdoor placement is often further from the router than indoor cameras.
Set the wide lens angle, then test AI tracking and detection zones.

✅ Do use the waterproof kit properly; exposed connections are the #1 cause of outdoor camera failure
✅ Do test Wi-Fi signal strength at the exact mounting location before drilling, or use Ethernet
✅ Do mount high enough to deter tampering but low enough for clear facial/vehicle detail
❌ Don't leave cable joints exposed to direct rain
❌ Don't mount facing directly into the rising or setting sun; it causes lens flare and washed-out footage
❌ Don't use household-grade (non-weatherproof) extension cords outdoors

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I get the 2K or the 3K H9c Dual? ⌄

2K (2304×1296) suits most home and office use. The H9c Dual 3K (2880×1620) gives sharper detail for number plates or faces at a distance. Both are listed separately at TechDukan.

How is the H9c Dual different from the H8c Pro? ⌄

The H8c Pro has one lens, so while it turns to follow someone it stops watching the rest of the area. The H9c Dual's wide lens keeps watching everything while the PT lens tracks.

Does it work on Wi-Fi or need a wired connection? ⌄

Either. It connects over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (5GHz is not supported) or through its RJ45 Ethernet port. It always needs a power outlet.
