  1. Choose an outdoor mounting spot with access to an electrical outlet or weatherproof extension cable.
  2. Mount at a height of 2.5–3 meters to cover the widest possible area while staying out of easy reach.
  3. Use the included waterproof connector at the cable joint to prevent water ingress.
  4. Secure the mounting bracket to a wall or eave using the included screws.
  5. Connect power and confirm the camera boots up.
  6. Add to the EZVIZ app via QR code, connect to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.
  7. Test signal strength at the exact mounting spot — outdoor placement is often further from the router than indoor cameras.
  8. Adjust both lenses' framing and test AI tracking/detection zones.

✅ Installation Do's and Don'ts

  • ✅ Do use the waterproof connector properly — exposed connections are the #1 cause of outdoor camera failure
  • ✅ Do test Wi-Fi signal strength at the exact mounting location before drilling
  • ✅ Do mount high enough to deter tampering but low enough for clear facial/vehicle detail
  • ❌ Don't leave cable joints exposed to direct rain without the waterproof connector
  • ❌ Don't mount facing directly into the rising or setting sun — causes lens flare and washed-out footage
  • ❌ Don't use household-grade (non-weatherproof) extension cords outdoors
